Welcome to Vintage Bungalow

This 1920’s bungalow, located in the incredible Holly neighborhood of East Austin, features interior design by Dana Ambs of Making Modern Home. The bungalow featured a segmented floorplan, and the renovation resulted in a large second living area with a more open floor plan. The addition also featured a small, open bonus room at the top of the stairs. If left empty, the bonus room could be seen as an unusable or confusing space for the buyer. We staged to maximize the functionality and benefits of this room. Following our staging service, the home sold for well over any comparable property!

Unique Challenges:

Crafting a staging design to maximize the functionality and benefits of the segmented floorplan, large second living area, and small room at the top of the stairs.

Project Type:

Staging for Investor

Style:

A blend of contemporary and mid-century modern styles, drawing upon the history of the home while highlighting the updates.

Innovative Solution:

We used contemporary touches such as clean lines to highlight the updates of the interior overhaul by Making Modern Home. By using a continuous color scheme throughout the spaces, we were able to visually connect them and make them feel like they were a part of one larger space. In addition, we staged the smaller room at the top of the stairs to be both a study and a sitting room. This gave the room a recognizable purpose and became a unique asset to buyers.

End Result:

A staging design that united the property’s unique features and turned uncertain spaces into a special selling points. It sold well over asking price.
